Uranium du Niger : Ces propos du général Tiani que Nathalie Yamb n’approuve pas totalement

In an interview given to Niger's national television in mid-February, the President of Niger, Army General Abdourahmane Tiani, indicated that he was ready to return to France some of the uranium produced by Orano before the nationalization of the Somair mine in June 2025.

"France has its 63.4% of the 156,231 tons of uranium produced. If they want us to send it to them tomorrow, we will pay for the transport ourselves, because they were there when it was produced. But everything that has been produced since is Nigerien and will remain Nigerien," said General Tiani.

Niger is "committed to respecting its commitments"

In a recent video posted on her YouTube channel, Nathalie Yamb praised the Nigerien leader's statements. According to her, General Tiani is demonstrating to his counterparts that Niger is "committed to honoring its commitments. Unlike Orano."

This is "reassuring for international investors," the influencer believes, but admits that she certainly would not have acted like Mr. Tiani.

“If it were me, I wouldn’t do it that way. We would first conduct an audit: has Orano fulfilled its contractual obligations, such as renewing production tools, paying all taxes and duties, declaring true volumes, transferring skills, and above all, has Orano kept its environmental commitments? The answer is no…,” stated Nathalie Yamb.

"Perhaps there would have been something left for Nicolas (Maes, head of Orano) and Emmanuel (Macron) in Paris."

For her, it was after "deducting the accumulated losses or damages caused over the years, that the remainder would have been distributed between Orano and Niger, according to the distribution of the shareholding, and perhaps there would have been something left for Nicolas (Maes, head of Orano) and Emmanuel (Macron) in Paris, or perhaps they are the ones who owe us something."

One might wonder if she has not had time to share her thoughts with President Tiani, of whom she is, let us remember, the special advisor.
