À notre Mère Valentina Yakovenko Sene (Par Léna Sene)
We pay tribute to a woman who carried two homelands in one heart: Ukraine and Senegal.
Our mother Valentina lived with dignity, loved sincerely, and gave without ever expecting anything in return.
His presence was gentle, but his impact was profound.
At 23, in Russia, Valentina met the love of her life, the late Ibrahima Sene, and at the same time pursued her university studies alongside him.
They both became agricultural engineers. And with hearts full of hope and determination, they began their life together, facing disagreements and family difficulties.
Their love knew no borders and led them to Senegal, where, hand in hand and with unwavering courage, they built their home and their life.
A faithful wife, devoted mother, and caring friend, she was a discreet pillar of support for her family.
His gaze was soothing, his gestures comforting, and his love forged bonds stronger than distance or time.
By facing adversity with courage, she built a house of light. Even though her voice has fallen silent, the tenderness she sowed continues to blossom in the hearts of her children, her loved ones, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Our dear Mother Valentina, who rests in Ngaye Mékhé beside our Father, gives us an example of what it means to LOVE for better, for worse, and forever...
Grief is proportional to the love we bear. And that love does not disappear.
May his soul rest in peace.
May his memory remain a blessing and an eternal light.
