Chères Sénégalaises, chers Sénégalais d’ici et de la diaspora, Chers collaborateurs, partenaires et compagnons de mission,( Par Dr Mabouba Diagne)
First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere thanks to His Excellency Mr. President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, as well as to Mr. Ousmane Sonko, Prime Minister, for the immense trust they have placed in me by choosing me from among more than 18 million Senegalese men and women to serve the Nation.
Thank you, Mr. President.
Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, for giving me this historic opportunity to contribute to the transformation of our agriculture and livestock farming, as well as to strengthening our food sovereignty.
Thank you for allowing me to work alongside men of integrity, ethics, and unwavering patriotism. Your vision, courage, and commitment to Senegal will remain a constant source of inspiration for me.
My heartfelt thanks also go to my brother and colleague, Dr. Alpha Ba. Your loyalty, candor, availability, and strong sense of public service were invaluable to me during this demanding mission. Moments of doubt often gave way to hope thanks to your sincere guidance.
I would also like to express my deep gratitude to all my direct and indirect collaborators: the two offices coordinated with professionalism by the Secretary General, the Chiefs of Staff, the Technical Advisors, the Assistants, the National Directors, the National Institutes, the Regional and Departmental Directorates, as well as all the agents of the Ministry.
My sincere thanks also go to our technical and financial partners, whose support, trust and constant commitment have greatly contributed to the implementation of our policies, programs and reforms in service of the agricultural and pastoral development of our country.
My sincerest gratitude also goes to our primary partners: producers, breeders, farmers' organizations and those involved in the rural and pastoral world.
For two years, we have travelled together through the heart of Senegal, meeting with the rural and pastoral world, tirelessly holding meetings and missions, sometimes late into the night, with a single ambition: to advance our agriculture, modernize our livestock farming and build, with young people and women, the solid foundations of our food sovereignty.
I saw courageous women, engaged youth, and men standing tall, determined to feed our nation despite the difficulties. I discovered a resilient, dignified rural Senegal, deeply connected to the land. These encounters will remain etched in my heart forever.
Today, the dream of a food-independent Senegal remains alive. Let us continue to give our all for our country, with the same commitment, the same faith, and the same love for our homeland.
As for me, I will never have words strong enough to thank you.
Thank you for your trust.
Thank you for your dedication.
Thank you for your patience and sacrifices.
Thank you for believing in this collective vision.
Your expertise, commitment and strategic vision have laid a solid foundation for the modernization of our agricultural sector and the sustainable strengthening of our country's food security.
I feel I have given my best in service to Senegal, but above all, I have the satisfaction of having shared this exceptional human adventure with honorable women and men.
May God bless Senegal.
May God protect our rural world, our producers, our livestock farmers and all the youth of Senegal.
With all my gratitude, respect, and affection.
Dr. Mabouba Diagne
