La vie éternelle des Valeurs : A l'an 1 de sa disparition, les esprits restent vifs sur les hauts faits qui ont marqué l'existence de l'homme exceptionnel que fut Serigne Moustapha Mbacké
The scholar of DAROUKHOUDOSS, drawing on the wisdom of his father Serigne Saliou, and the audacity of Serigne Abdoul Ahad who ensured a good part of his education, forged a particular character which imprinted on his earthly life the profound virtues of Islam.
His life in Touba and during the Caliphate of his father, Serigne Saliou, was characterized solely by a strong commitment that strikingly recalls the behavior of the Rachidounes. These were the ones who guided the Ummah on the straight and virtuous path after the passing of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), succeeding in maintaining and extending the prophetic mission even to the hostile territories of Europe.
Sheikh Moustapha Saliou set a very high standard for elevating Islam and the Mouride brotherhood in his speeches and scholarly contributions. A Muslim by nature, a Mouride par excellence, Sheikh Moustapha remained firmly within the strict framework of orthodox Islam. His scholarly article on the rights of the embryo highlights the firm stance Islam takes on respect for human life.
Faced with the pitfalls of the modern mind, which attempts overly permissive analyses of Allah's authority, Sheikh Moustapha rejects the debate and the shaky compromises made under the weight of worldly influences and the heavy burden of ignorance. His closing address at the 2007 Magal was distinguished by an eloquence that captivated his audience, but more importantly, Sheikh Moustapha reminded the Ummah of the meaning of Islam and the unshakeable principles of unity that characterize the religion of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Recalling the Prophet's (peace be upon him) last sermon, Sheikh Moustapha emphasized solidarity, mutual support, transparency, integrity, and peace, which are the guiding principles of all growth strategies for organized groups. He lived a simple life, despite the magnificent charisma he possessed.
Beloved by the Mouride disciples, who idealized him as the embodiment of pure Mouridism, Sheikh Moustapha also achieved international scientific recognition. At the 1996 International Summit of Cities in Istanbul, and at the 1988 reconciliation meeting between Muslim countries Iran and Iraq, the grandson of Bamba extolled his mastery of the Prophet's language and his profound knowledge of Islamic sciences and the history of Muslim peoples.
Serigne Moustapha's legacy remains inexhaustible through his numerous scientific contributions, but above all the exemplary Mouride model that his image inspires.
