Carthage 2025 : Les Journées Théâtrales animent Tunis, célébrant l'art et la mémoire

The Carthage Theatre Days (JTC) in Tunisia have established themselves as one of the largest cultural events in the African and Arab world. The festival occupies a prominent place in the cultural landscape thanks to its relevance and the beauty of the city of Tunis, which provides a stunning backdrop for visitors.

Since November 22nd, the Tunisian capital has been pulsating to the rhythm of this event, in an atmosphere that is both convivial and electric. Theaters have become hubs for a series of performances, much to the delight of the public. Numerous cultural figures and theater enthusiasts, as well as companies and groups from all over the world, are in Tunis to bring the dramatic arts back to life on stage.

Known for its spirit of convergence and unity, the Carthage Theatre Days (JTC) have also been a forum for encounters and a privileged place to honor those who have contributed to the influence of Arab theatre and theatre worldwide. A vibrant tribute was paid to great figures who have written a remarkable chapter in the history of theatre.

Among those honored for their service to the theater were Fethi Haddoui, Anouar Chaafi, Mohamed Fadhel Jaziri, Fraj Chouchane, Ahmed Hadhek El Orf, Abir Jebali, and Salah Bourjini in Tunisia. The tribute also resonated particularly strongly with the inclusion of international figures such as Latifa Ahrar (Morocco) and Abderrahman Kamaté (Ivory Coast).

Characterized by its oral tradition, theatre is a text intended to be performed on stage by actors. It is also a refuge for those seeking to express their loneliness. The Carthage Theatre Days will continue until November 29th, the date of a grand closing ceremony including the presentation of awards.
