Distinction : La joie de Cheikh Ndigël Lô félicité par le ministre de la Culture

After winning the prestigious Transglobal World Music Chart for October 2025 with his album "Maame," Cheikh Ndigël Lô received congratulations from the Ministry of Culture, Crafts, and Tourism. In a statement, Minister Amadou Ba expressed his gratitude. A gesture that filled Cheikh Ndigël Lô with joy.

"Over the years, I have been fortunate to receive several international awards, sometimes even more prestigious, but rarely officially recognized by our ministry. This statement from Minister Amadou Ba is therefore very meaningful to me. I would like to thank him warmly. Thank you for this attention, thank you for promoting Senegalese culture and those who carry it beyond our borders," Cheikh Ndigël Lô rejoiced.

The Minister of Culture congratulated the musician on the exceptional distinction of his latest album "Maame" which reached number one on the prestigious Transglobal World Music Chart of October 2025.

He also congratulated his musicians, including his son and sound engineer, Massamba Lô, as well as the entire team at Word Circuit Records and BMG for this magnificent achievement which, he said, honors Senegal.

Amadou Ba affirmed that this international recognition, awarded by a panel of more than 60 critics and world music specialists from all continents, constitutes a true consecration to Senegalese music as a whole. "This distinction crowns 50 years of a rich and authentic musical career, marked by a unique and audacious fusion of mbalax, Latin rhythms, and West African traditions," the minister extolled.

Furthermore, the Minister praised the career of Cheikh Ndigël Lô, from Bobo-Dioulasso to Dakar, who is a shining example of perseverance, talent and artistic integrity.

For Amadou Ba, the success of "Maame" is further proof of the vitality and creativity of the Senegalese music scene. This success demonstrates the ability of our artists to hold high the banner of our culture and to make it shine far beyond our borders. "This remarkable performance reinforces Senegal's deserved place as a hub of arts and culture in Africa and around the world," the minister extolled.

@Ahbon: Cheikh, Youssou mookani thiass, taalko!
