Lendemain du 4 Avril : Wally Seck promet un téra-concert en apothéose à Thiès

The closing concert of the April 4th festivities, led by Wally Ballago Seck, with a rich and diverse artistic program on the evening of April 5, 2026, the day after the celebration of Independence in Thiès, to complete the circle, was the subject of a preparatory press conference held at the esplanade of the City Hall, in the presence of municipal authorities and cultural actors and several artist-composers.

Wally Ballago Seck promised a spectacular concert to the many residents of Thiès who came to attend the event, a giant show to ignite the railway capital, ready to "vibrate" to the rhythm of the music. A musical spectacle of exceptional scale, as part of Senegal's independence celebrations.

The musical event, offering a rich and varied program, will showcase local talent from diverse musical backgrounds. It promises to bring together residents of Thiès and fans of popular music, who will be able to enjoy performances by Macoumba, Sasha, Ass Mbaye, Ndèye Sokhna Royal Band, and others.

On behalf of the artists of Thiès, Ma Sané praised an initiative that enhances the region's cultural scene and strengthens its influence.

Several musical genres will be represented, ranging from pop to rap, including reggae, slam poetry, and dance. Artists like Fire & Wizzy, Ben Lil, and Lilka Boy are expected to perform rap, while reggae will be represented by Mistik, Voices, and Buur Sine. Slam poetry will be embodied by Arona Jumeaux and Hadja "La Voix du Cœur," with choreographic performances also provided by Urban Art and X Dance Crew.

This was an opportunity for the mayor of Thiès to unveil, beyond the concert, a range of cultural activities planned before, during, and after the April 4th parade. The goal is to permanently position the city as a major cultural hub.

Ne nous dites pas que le pays va mal, « deuk bi dafa meti », pas de boulot, et tutti quanti. La lutte, la musique, le folklore, ça draine des centaines de millions. Pauvres prolétaires !
