L'ADM répond à l’appel des Journées Climat & Développement du Sénégal
The Municipal Development Agency (ADM) actively participated in the Senegal Climate & Development Days, held on October 27 and 28, 2025, at the CICAD in Diamniadio. Through strategic intervention and dynamic presentations, the ADM demonstrated its commitment to combating climate change at the local level.
Strategic participation in the debates
The Director General of the Municipal Development Agency (ADM), Dr. Mamouth Diop, spoke at the panel on "Climate, Local Economy, and Territories," where he highlighted the Agency's expertise in resilient local development. He demonstrated how the Municipal Development Agency coordinates its actions and investments to strengthen the climate resilience of Senegalese cities, particularly in the face of flooding and coastal erosion risks, while aligning with the Senegal 2050 Vision and the Sustainable Urban Development Goals. The focus on the Agency's flagship projects and programs provided a better understanding of the priorities and innovations envisioned by the ADM to support local authorities in the transition to inclusive, low-carbon, and climate-resilient cities.
The Director General of ADM emphasized the key measures ADM is implementing to strengthen cities' climate resilience in the face of increased risks of flooding, heat waves, and the degradation of urban infrastructure, while ensuring the inclusion of the most vulnerable populations, particularly those living in informal settlements. He also stressed the importance of mobilizing the most appropriate financing mechanisms to support these investments, in collaboration with the private sector.
A stand very popular with visitors
Alongside the conferences, the ADM hosted an exhibition stand over the two days, which generated considerable interest. Ministers, directors general, local elected officials, experts, and students took turns engaging with the Agency's teams to gain a better understanding of its missions and its role in supporting local authorities in addressing climate challenges.
The context: mobilizing for the climate
