Le général Mbaye Cissé participe à la Conférence des chefs d’État-major des armées africaines à Abuja
General Mbaye Cissé, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (CEMGA) of Senegal, took part in the Conference of Chiefs of Staff of the African Armies held in Abuja, Nigeria, from 25 to 27 August 2025.
Held under the theme "The role of strategic defense collaboration in combating contemporary threats to peace and security in Africa," this meeting brought together senior military officials from several countries on the continent.
This conclave takes place in a context marked by complex and interconnected security challenges, such as terrorism, transnational organized crime and internal conflicts.
In the face of these threats, the Chiefs of Staff of African armies reaffirmed the need for enhanced cooperation and concerted approaches to ensure peace and stability.
On the sidelines of the meeting, General Mbaye Cissé held talks with his Nigerian counterpart. The discussions focused on strengthening military cooperation between Senegal and Nigeria, two countries engaged in the fight against insecurity in West Africa.
This conference constitutes an important step in the dynamics of security integration of the continent, highlighting strategic collaboration as an essential lever to meet current and future challenges.
