President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has been in Nairobi since

Last Sunday, he participated in the Africa Forward Summit. Alongside the plenary sessions, he held a series of meetings. The Head of State met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso.

According to the presidency, during this meeting, the institution informed the Head of State of its desire to raise its commitment to a more ambitious level, by substantially strengthening its interventions in service of the Senegalese economy.

The same source indicates that the EBRD has already established a concrete presence in Senegal, through the recruitment of its local teams and the financing of structuring projects. These include the construction of the desalination plant developed with Acwa Power and support for several private initiatives in renewable energy.

The Head of State also received a delegation from the West African Development Bank (BOAD), led by its president, Serge Ekoué. "Following these discussions, the institution reaffirmed its full support for Senegal in its search for a solution to the country's debt situation. This support reflects African solidarity in action," the presidency announced.

President Faye also met with representatives from Danone and Laiterie du Berger, whose partnership has generated significant economic results. Indeed, Laiterie du Berger closed the year 2025 with 29 billion FCFA in revenue and relies on 8,000 livestock farmers, with two billion FCFA injected annually into the pastoral sector through their purchases.

It also relies on a network of 35,000 downstream stores, which collectively generated a margin of 5 billion CFA francs in 2025. The company now aims to establish itself as a champion on a sub-regional scale.

On the sports front, leaders of NBA Africa and the Basketball Africa League were also received by the Head of State. They advocated for a substantial strengthening of the partnership with Senegal. Furthermore, an agreement currently being finalized with APIX (the Agency for Investment Promotion and Major Projects) will soon formalize this shared ambition, according to the Presidency, which also indicated that the next edition of the Basketball Africa League could return to Dakar.

On the diplomatic front, President Faye concluded two bilateral meetings with the Presidents of the Comoros and Botswana. These meetings "allowed for the renewal or deepening of cooperation with strong potential."

Le gars voyage parce que c'est seulement a l'étranger qu'il se sent en paix car il est devenu trop petit dans son pays et évite de regarder les Sénégalais, les yeux dans les yeux.Il fuit son pays a toute occasion.
