Sommet UE–UA : Diomaye Faye appelle à un multilatéralisme renouvelé
During the plenary session of the European Union-African Union Summit, Bassirou Diomaye Faye advocated for a "rethought Africa-Europe cooperation, with increased support for African security mechanisms." This is to strengthen the continent's capacity to confront threats, emphasizing the scale of current crises which "demands a collective response."
Furthermore, the Senegalese president called for fairer and more representative global governance, believing that lasting stability depends on a renewed and truly inclusive multilateralism.
As a reminder, the leaders of the member states of the European Union and the African Union are meeting in Angola for a new summit on November 24 and 25, on the theme of promoting peace and prosperity.
