4 Avril 2026 : L’École polytechnique de Thiès remporte la meilleure parade du défilé civil
The brilliant engineering students of the Polytechnic School of Thiès (EPT) won, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in front of the Head of State, his Prime Minister and members of the government, the trophy for the best civil parade of the 66th edition of the celebration of independence relocated to Thiès.
“A well-deserved accolade, the fruit of hard work, unwavering determination, and a commitment worthy of its motto, ‘Wisdom and Duty,’” rejoiced the school, which distinguished itself by winning the prize for best parade in the civil ceremony. This award recognizes “the commitment, rigor, and talent of its students and instructors, while highlighting the excellence of Senegalese youth,” emphasized the school's leaders.
“It’s no surprise, EPT has always shone in the Independence Day parades. The younger generation has followed in the footsteps of their elders, with brilliance and determination,” notes EPT. This prestigious engineering school, founded in 1973 by Léopold Sédar Senghor, trains engineers in West Africa in the fields of civil engineering, electromechanical engineering (with an aeronautical track), computer engineering, and telecommunications.
