The National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE) officially announced a partnership on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, with Senegalese international footballer Pape Alassane Gueye, who is now an official ambassador for the financial institution. Through this agreement, the BNDE aims to increase its visibility among the general public, particularly young people and the diaspora, by associating its image with the world of sports.

During the signing ceremony, the Director General of BNDE, Mamadou Faye, presented this agreement as "an act that is both symbolic and forward-looking", reflecting the bank's desire "to be ever closer to the driving forces of the country, the aspirations of the youth and the development ambitions of Senegal".

According to Mr. Faye, the Senegalese midfielder embodies "values that BNDE shares and promotes every day: discipline, perseverance, excellence, a sense of effort and commitment to the collective."

Thus, the BNDE believes that this collaboration will allow it to convey "a clear message": "economic development must be accessible, ambitious, concrete, and embodied by positive models capable of uniting efforts around the country's future." Indeed, the institution aims to consolidate its position "as a major player in financing structuring and inclusive projects."

For his part, Pape Gueye praised BNDE's commitment to Senegalese football as a partner of the Senegalese Football Federation. The midfielder affirmed his desire to bring to the bank the values that unite him: ambition, hard work, passion, and above all, national pride.

The Senegalese international also mentioned the discussions held with bank officials, believing that they are "going in the right direction with the progress of Senegalese football and the country".
