Cap-Skirring : 160 touristes débarquent pour ouvrir la saison-touristique 2025-2026 en Casamance
The tourist season is resuming in Casamance, particularly in Cap-Skirring, after a six-month hiatus. This resumption of tourism activities materialized with the arrival of the first tourists in this seaside area. A total of 160 European tourists arrived at Cap-Skirring airport yesterday on the first flight.
The opening of the tourist season coincided with the loss of the mayor of Diembéring, who covers Cap-Skirring, hence the sober nature of the welcome given to the first tourists.
Rachelle Coly Boucal, coordinator of AIBD SA, wished to present her organization's condolences to the people of this commune and to the nation.
The opening of the tourist season in Casamance also coincides with the certification of the Cap-Skirring airport.
"Cap-Skirring International Airport was certified in April 2025, which means that the airport meets civil aviation standards," said Rachelle Coly Boucal.
The coordinator of AIBD SA, learns that all stakeholders in the tourism sector will work towards the vision of transforming Senegal by 2050 to boost tourism in Casamance and Senegal, and also the economy in view of the importance of this sector and the place it occupies in the national GDP. ʺ The opening of this season will boost the economy by creating jobs, by developing the informal economy. Because who says tourist says discovery. And who says discovery, says purchase of souvenirs or local items. So, it is a great opportunity for all operators in Casamance in general and Cap-Skirring in particular. ʺ
