Classement Forbes 2026 : L'insolente fortune d'Elon Musk franchit les 500 000 milliards de FCFA
Businessman Elon Musk, the major shareholder of car manufacturer Tesla, space company SpaceX, social network X and artificial intelligence company xAI, tops the list of the world's richest people published this Tuesday by Forbes magazine.
Elon Musk's fortune is now estimated at $839 billion, or approximately 503.4 trillion FCFA. By comparison, his net worth was "only" $342 billion (205.2 trillion FCFA) in the list published a year earlier.
This meteoric rise allows him to have more than three times the wealth of the other two members of the top three: the co-founders of Google, Larry Page ($257 billion, or 154,200 billion FCFA) and Sergey Brin ($237 billion, or 142,200 billion FCFA).
An explosion in the number of billionaires on the planet
According to the American magazine, known for its annual ranking of the world's richest people, the planet now has 3,428 billionaires, 400 more than a year earlier.
Their combined wealth has reached dizzying heights: $20.1 trillion (approximately 12,060 trillion FCFA), compared to $16.1 trillion (9,660 trillion FCFA) in the previous census. This concentration of wealth confirms a trend of exponential growth in very high net worth worldwide.
