Difficultés financières du Sénégal : ce que Macron a promis au Pr. Diomaye
For nearly two years, the Senegalese government has been struggling with the difficulties stemming from the hidden debt scandal. Authorities have been maneuvering to prevent the country from defaulting, notably by drawing on resources from the regional financial market. But how long can this hold? The President of the French Republic, for his part, has no intention of abandoning Senegal.
At least that's what Jeune Afrique reports. In an article published this Wednesday, it states, based on sources, that during their meeting in Nairobi, Emmanuel Macron assured President Diomaye Faye that "France would not abandon Senegal."
On May 11, the Senegalese Presidency announced the meeting between the two presidents. The meeting took place at the University of Nairobi, on the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit. "The two Heads of State discussed bilateral cooperation between Senegal and France, as well as the major challenges facing the world," the Presidency stated.
