Économie : bonne nouvelle pour la balance commerciale du Sénégal
Senegal's exports fell by 50% last January. According to the monthly bulletin of the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD), reported by Libération, they dropped to 412.6 billion CFA francs compared to 825.3 billion the previous month.
"This result is explained by the decline in exports of non-monetary gold, refined petroleum products and liquefied natural gas," the newspaper reports.
The same source indicates that "the main exported products are crude oil, non-monetary gold, refined petroleum products, and fresh seafood." It adds: "Senegal's main customers are Mali (17.5%), Switzerland (13.9%), the Netherlands (12.3%), Italy (11.8%), and China (11.2%)."
