Fisc : la formule d’un député pour mobiliser 1000 milliards F CFA par an
MP Tahirou Sarr criticizes the new authorities' approach of increasing taxes to overcome the budgetary pressures facing the state. "The problem is not only the level of taxation, but the feeling that it always falls on the same people: employees, SMEs, consumers, while entire sectors of the economy still largely escape the national effort," he argues in an interview published this Thursday in L'Observateur.
Instead of what he sees as a tax onslaught targeting the same people, Tahirou Sarr proposes "a different, more structural approach": "The implementation of a residency permit in Senegal, which I have proposed within a legislative framework. This would allow us to mobilize new resources of around 1 trillion CFA francs per year, without further burdening Senegalese citizens."
