Fraudes, recours, interopérabilité : le Sénégal face aux noeuds de la finance digitale

Faced with the growing risks associated with the digitalization of financial services, the Financial Services Quality Observatory (OQSF), in partnership with the World Bank's CGAP, is organizing a national meeting on October 29, 2025, in Dakar. This meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss the sector's challenges, including fraud, transaction errors, privacy violations, and the lack of recourse for users.

The event is part of a governance and regulatory approach where trust becomes a central element of digital financial inclusion. It is aligned with the launch of the National Financial Education Program and the interoperability project led by the BCEAO, thus strengthening the capacity of stakeholders and users to interact in a secure and transparent framework.

For Senegal, this initiative reflects a desire to balance innovation and protection, by laying the foundations for a modern financial system capable of supporting economic growth and helping citizens access digital financial services.

The reflection undertaken could serve as a model for the entire West African region, where the rise of digital technology imposes new rules and guarantees for consumers.
