Rapport Itie - 2024 : Plus de 435 milliards de francs Cfa «directement» dans les caisses de l’Etat
The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) has just released its 2024 report. It reveals that 455.9 billion CFA francs were generated by the extractive sector, compared to 380 billion CFA francs for the year 2023. This represents an increase of 75.9 billion CFA francs.
The document also indicates that 435.8 billion CFA francs were allocated directly to the State budget compared to 346.1 billion CFA francs during the year 2024. This represents a significant increase of 89.7 billion CFA francs.
The mining sector generated the most revenue, with 369.6 billion CFA francs. The hydrocarbons sector accounted for 77.7 billion CFA francs. During 2024, 6.6 billion CFA francs were paid out in social payments and 1.9 billion in environmental payments.
Thus, for the year 2024, the extractive sector contributed 4.9% to GDP, 11.9% to state revenue, 31.3% to exports and 0.7% to employment.
