Secteur Minier : Endeavour Mining injecte 1 500 milliards FCFA dans les économies africaines en 2025

Endeavour Mining has released its annual results for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025, along with its Sustainability Report. The mining group reports annual production of 1.209 million ounces of gold, equivalent to approximately 37.6 tonnes. The total sustaining cost is $1,433 per ounce.

The group also reports having reinvested over 1.5 trillion CFA francs in the economies of the countries where it operates. This sum represents 72% of its projected revenue for 2025. These financial flows include payments to governments, local purchases, employee salaries, and community investments. More than 1,200 local businesses participated in these economic activities.

The group's chairman and CEO, Ian Cockerill, describes it as a year of strong activity: "2025 was a record year for Endeavour, marked by solid operational performance and tangible value creation. Driven by a favorable gold price environment, this performance translated into robust financial results and a significant contribution to our host countries."

The executive also presented the group's industrial outlook: "We continue to strengthen the quality and lifespan of our portfolio. The Assafou-Dibibango project is progressing towards the publication of its feasibility study in the first quarter of 2026, with the first gold pour expected in the second half of 2028."

In parallel, we announced an exploration strategy aimed at increasing the Group's resources, with a target of adding 1.5 million ounces in measured and indicated resources by 2030.

Endeavour's management also emphasizes the scale of the economic flows generated by the group's activities. "During the fiscal year, more than 1,500 billion FCFA, or 72% of our revenues, were reinvested in the national economies where we operate. This includes payments to governments, local purchases, employee salaries, and community investments, mobilizing more than 1,200 local businesses and strengthening national supply chains," explains the CEO.

Endeavour Mining does not intend to stop there, as the manager adds that the company intends to continue this direction: "We are approaching 2026 with the same ambition: to maintain our performance, consolidate our partnerships and sustainably share the value produced with our host countries."

Over a five-year period, Endeavour Mining reports having contributed more than 6 trillion CFA francs to the economies of the countries where the group operates. This amount represents nearly seven times the sums distributed to shareholders over the same period. By 2025, more than 70% of the group's economic contribution will have directly benefited the economies of host countries. This contribution is based on three pillars.

The first area concerns purchases made from companies. Endeavour reports having spent over 1 trillion CFA francs on its purchases. The Sabodala-Massawa mining complex accounts for nearly 200 billion CFA francs of this amount. The majority of these purchases are from suppliers located in the countries where the group operates. The data provided indicates that 86% of suppliers are based in these countries.

Purchases from national or nationally owned companies amount to nearly 870 billion CFA francs. Local suppliers located near mining sites account for 32 billion CFA francs. Suppliers from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) total 20 billion CFA francs. International suppliers represent 117 billion CFA francs. The group also indicates that 95% of its employees are nationals.

By 2025, 72% of Endeavour's revenues directly benefited the national economies of its host countries.

The second area concerns tax and parafiscal contributions paid to governments. Endeavour Mining reports having paid 547 billion CFA francs to the countries where it operates. These payments include taxes, mining royalties, dividends, and other fiscal contributions. In Senegal, these payments amount to nearly 93 billion CFA francs.

The third area concerns local financing. The group indicates that it has made nearly 37 billion CFA francs in loan repayments to national financial institutions.

The sustainability report also mentions several social and environmental initiatives. The year 2025 marks the final year of the five-year ESG plan covering the period 2021-2025. The group is now preparing a new roadmap for the period 2026-2030.

In Senegal, social activities are concentrated around the Sabodala-Massawa mining complex. The company reports having organized 200 community consultations in 2025. Investments made in this context reached 1 billion CFA francs through the Local Mining Development Fund. The funded projects focus on education, access to water, health, and local economic development in the Kédougou region.

The group also mentioned several initiatives in the field of education. The "Golden Nuggets" program has recognized 321 Senegalese students. A scholarship program currently enables 37 young women to continue their schooling. In the area of health, 466 patients received free screenings during mobile medical clinics focused on maternal and child health.

The report also mentions safety indicators at the Sabodala-Massawa site. The lost-time accident frequency rate reached 0.14 in 2025. Environmental initiatives are also highlighted in the annual report. The "One Child, One Tree" program has enabled the planting of 550 trees in Senegal. Two biodiversity conservation projects have been launched: the protection of 891 hectares in the Ninéfécha community nature reserve and the restoration of 4.5 hectares of urban public spaces in Cambérène.

The Endeavour Foundation has also partnered with the Plastic Odyssey initiative. This program supports a local entrepreneur specializing in waste management in Kédougou. The project includes the opening of a plastic waste management center. Projections indicate the collection of approximately 300 tons of plastic waste per year and the creation of around twenty direct jobs.

The group also reports having commissioned a 37-megawatt-peak solar power plant at the Sabodala-Massawa complex. The installation operates with a 16-megawatt storage system.

In Senegal, these initiatives were recognized at the International Mining Exhibition held in Dakar. Endeavour Mining received the Mining Company of the Year Award. This distinction recognizes its contribution to the development of the mining sector.

Endeavour Mining is among the world's leading gold producers. The group has operating assets in Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, and Burkina Faso. The company also has a portfolio of advanced projects and exploration assets in the Birimian greenstone belt. It is listed on the London and Toronto stock exchanges under the symbol EDV.
