Voyage de Sonko en Turquie : Les milliards de dollars de propositions d’investissements
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has concluded his 72-hour trip to Turkey. At the end of his marathon visit, which he gave both diplomatic and economic significance, the head of government secured several investment promises.
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko received a total of twenty executives from major Turkish companies operating in the fields of agriculture, construction, automotive, and armaments, among others.
"These are business leaders who came to propose, in the form of PPPs, or direct investments, structuring projects, which will not, tomorrow, further increase Senegal's debt burden," explains His Excellency Moustapha Sokhna Diop.
Senegal's ambassador to Turkey revealed to our colleagues at RTS that the investment promises amount to billions of dollars. "If we add up the figures, we're talking about billions of dollars of investment expected from the Turkish private sector," he said.
"For the energy sector alone, we're talking about roughly $9 billion. I'm not talking about investments in agriculture, construction, or the development of industrial sectors. We've had a lot of proposals," the diplomat assures.
To implement these investment proposals, the Prime Minister instructed the relevant ministers to meet with the heads of these companies to study these projects and see how they could be implemented in Senegal.
