30 ans du groupe IAM : des milliers de diplômés et trois axes pour former les élites de demain
The African Institute of Management (IAM) Group in Dakar continued, on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the festivities marking its three decades of existence, in an atmosphere combining festive celebration and strategic reflection.
Cultural performances, student choreography and poignant testimonials from alumni opened the ceremony, before the symbolic moment of the birthday cake, which was greeted by enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The Director General, Bamba Fall, recounted the institution's history, describing it as "a long journey" built on resilience and innovation. He noted that over the past thirty years, IAM has trained thousands of graduates who are now active in the public and private sectors, some of whom are actively involved in shaping public policy across the continent.
Three strategic priorities for the future
Faced with the rapid changes in the world of work, the institution has defined three major priorities: digital technology and artificial intelligence, sustainable development and entrepreneurship.
The objective is clear: to adapt training programs to current economic realities. For management, it's no longer just about preparing students to join existing companies, but about giving them the tools to create their own businesses. With this in mind, IAM is strengthening the teaching of soft skills and, starting in the third year, is implementing tutored projects focused on entrepreneurship.
Furthermore, an international expansion strategy is underway towards several French-speaking countries, including Ivory Coast, Gabon, Congo and Cameroon.
A vision rooted in Africanness
The Minister of National Education and founder of the institution, Moustapha Guirassy, placed this celebration within an ideological and forward-looking context. He highlighted an institution built on "African identity" and "endogenized management," emphasizing the imperative of adapting training models to the cultural realities of the continent.
The minister also praised the career paths of IAM alumni, now present in high-level decision-making positions, seeing it as proof of the school's real impact. Finally, he placed this milestone anniversary within a three-pronged framework: retrospective, introspective, and prospective, at a time when sustainable development and the centrality of human beings are becoming vital issues.
