COUD : L'Intersyndicale appelle à un droit retrait de 48 heures pour les agents
The Inter-Union of the University Social Services Center of Dakar (COUD) has expressed its deep concern regarding the deteriorating social climate on campuses, resulting from strikes and days without tickets. According to the Inter-Union, these events jeopardize the physical safety of staff and damage the facilities provided to the student community.
The union members deplore the forced work stoppages, threats, verbal and physical assaults, as well as acts of violence and vandalism perpetrated against staff and property.
They demand that the COUD management and authorities ensure the safety of workers and infrastructure, and denounce any form of intimidation aimed at forcing agents to abandon their posts.
In response to this situation, the inter-union group has decided to call on employees to exercise their right to withdraw from work for 48 hours, starting this Friday, February 6, 2026, renewable if the situation does not improve. The inter-union group reserves the right to use all legal means to protect workers and urges them to show solidarity and remain vigilant.
She thus reaffirms her commitment to dialogue, mutual respect and the preservation of a peaceful climate within the university, highlighting the considerable efforts made by the authorities to improve the daily lives of students, in particular through the introduction of social tariffs for services (50 F "Ndekki" (breakfast), 100 F "Agne" (lunch), 100 F "Reere" (dinner), not forgetting the 50 F for access to medical care.
