Drame de l’UCAD : Bougane Guèye s’indigne et fustige une « gestion périlleuse » de la jeunesse
The death of student Abdoulaye Ba has sparked deep emotion within the university community and the political class. Bougane Guèye, leader of the Gueum Sa Bopp "Les Jambaars" movement, expressed his profound sadness at this tragedy, which he described as a major loss for the Republic and for the University.
"The Republic has lost one of its children and the University one of its brightest lights," he said, bowing emotionally before the grief of the deceased's family and his fellow students.
Beyond paying tribute, Bougane Guèye used this opportunity to raise awareness about the situation of students and the handling of sensitive issues related to youth. According to him, this tragedy serves as a reminder of the importance of the warnings issued for several months regarding the fragility of the university environment and the risks associated with failing to adequately address student concerns.
“This tragic event unfortunately confirms the relevance of the warnings we had issued. We had drawn attention to the fragility of the situation and the perilous management of sensitive issues affecting our youth, particularly students. Alas, reality is catching up with us today in the most painful way,” he lamented.
