Examen du BEP à Thiès : Le procureur libère six candidats tricheurs arrêtés par la police
Six candidates arrested by police for cheating during the Vocational Studies Certificate (BEP) exams have been released on the instructions of the public prosecutor at the Thiès High Court. All admitted to having access to the exam questions and answers before the exams, according to Seneweb sources.
On June 2, 2026, five candidates were arrested by the Thiès police for cheating on the Vocational Studies Certificate (BEP) exams. The following day, a sixth candidate joined them at the police station. He was Cheikh Ndiaye, 23 years old, residing in the Keur Cheikh neighborhood of Thiès. His arrest came after his cell phone, confiscated at the police station the previous day, led to his being questioned.
In total, six suspects are implicated: Massaër Diakhaté, Mortalla Niang, Aboubacry Ba, Abdoul Aziz Dieye, Cheikh Ciss and Cheikh Ndiaye.
Interviewed separately and recorded in the official transcripts, the six candidates unanimously admitted to having had access, before the exams, to the exam questions and proposed answer keys. These admissions establish the evidence of fraud.
Released on the instructions of the prosecutor's office
The investigation was closed on June 4, 2026, at noon. On the instructions of the public prosecutor at the Thiès High Court, the six defendants were released. The case file was forwarded to the prosecutor's office as a preliminary investigation.
