Kaffrine : Le LYNAQE célèbre ses Journées scientifiques et remet 83 ordinateurs portables aux élèves de Première S1

The National Military High School of Kaffrine (LYNAQE) has been hosting its Science Days since yesterday, a major event that this year coincides with the distribution of laptops to students in their first year of scientific studies (Première S1). This initiative, led by the Cheikh Hamidou Kane Digital University in partnership with the FORCE N program, aims to promote scientific excellence and innovation within educational institutions.

Presiding over the ceremony, Mamadou Niang, Inspector of the Academy of Kaffrine, expressed his complete satisfaction with this dynamic.

"First, I would like to express my pleasure at being here today at the National Army High School in Kaffrine, to preside over an extremely important ceremony, not only for the high school, but also for the Academy and for the students," he said.

According to him, this is a major step in the modernization of the education system:

“The Cheikh Hamidou Kane Digital University, through its partnership with FORCE N, wanted to provide all students in Première S1, Terminale S1, Première S3 and Terminale S3 with laptops. This is a way to promote the development of digital technology, artificial intelligence and robotics within educational institutions.”

In total, 83 students in the first year of the S1 stream at LYNAQE each received a laptop and a dongle providing unlimited internet access. This is an essential contribution, the Inspector emphasized, "to our strategy for modernizing education."

He made a point of reminding the students of the responsibility that rests on their shoulders:

“We don’t just expect good grades from you. We want young people capable of thinking, imagining, innovating… entrepreneurs, development agents, capable of shaping the future of this country.”

Days dedicated to science, digital technology and innovation

These scientific days are organized by the FORCE N program, which is very committed to promoting STEM fields.

According to Mamadou Faye, coordinator of activities with schools, several structured workshops are being organized:

"We introduced the students to coding, robotics, artificial intelligence, but also to astronomy."

The choice of LYNAQE is not accidental:

“We chose LYNAQE because it embodies excellence, and FORCE N supports the Ministry of National Education in promoting excellence.”

In addition to providing computers and USB drives, FORCE N ensures permanent connectivity "24/7 and 365 days a year", but also supports teacher training:

"Currently, we are training 105,000 teachers in the use of artificial intelligence."

A strengthened strategic partnership

For Colonel Cheikhna Dieng, Commander of LYNAQE, the support of FORCE N is a decisive lever for the promotion of science in the institution.

"We have been running our Scientific Days since yesterday, with evening activities, and we are very happy with the strategic partnership we have with FORCE N," he said.

The program for the days is "very rich": conferences on astronomy, robotics workshops, introduction to coding, nighttime astronomical observations…

The delivery of the 83 computers comes at a crucial time, as the facility is facing "a serious internet connection problem." The commander has made "an urgent appeal to the authorities to resolve this issue."

LYNAQE has also been chosen as a training center for international robotics competitions, a responsibility that the Colonel accepts with pride.

He also announced a new digital distribution strategy:

"Each student who receives a computer will be tasked with recruiting at least five students from other middle and high schools to the program's platform."

A drive towards scientific excellence

Through these actions, the Kaffrine Academy intends to strengthen its scientific positioning, further encourage young people to pursue scientific and digital fields, and build a generation of students equipped for the jobs of the future.

The momentum generated at LYNAQE suggests a new era where innovation, technology and excellence combine to prepare the builders of tomorrow's Senegal.
