Sedhiou : L'Inspecteur d'Académie face aux Formateurs pour l'Analyse des Résultats Scolaires
A significant meeting between the Academy Inspector (IA) and all the trainers from the district's establishments was held yesterday, Wednesday. The objective of this session was to conduct an in-depth analysis of academic results, which were deemed unsatisfactory in light of expectations, despite the clear commitment of the training teams.
The Academy Inspector began the meeting by presenting a statistical report which, while not alarming (36% for the baccalaureate), reveals performance below the targets set at the beginning of the year. He emphasized that this required in-depth reflection but above all closer supervision of lecturers, temporary staff, and teachers recruited through special recruitment.
The AI, however, took care to recognize the involvement of the trainers, whose daily dedication is indisputable. There was unanimous agreement on the total commitment of the teams, often mobilized well beyond their hours of service to support and provide individualized guidance to teachers.
However, the heart of the problem lies in the difficult working conditions they encounter, namely the isolation of the Goudomp department, the lack of rolling logistics, and insufficient management staff to meet needs. Added to this are the massive departures of colleagues following the national movement, which results in an eternal restart.
Real difficulties far from demotivating the teaching teams. The trainers, on site, developed an action plan to be validated by the IA. The latter assured the trainers that he would spare no effort to provide the teaching teams with adequate working conditions, even if it meant, in conjunction with the administrative authority, requisitioning service vehicles to ensure their mobilization. He also demonstrated the availability of the IEF to support the teaching teams in deploying in the field.
This meeting, marked by constructive candor, laid the foundation for renewed collaboration. While disappointment with the results is palpable, the mutual recognition of efforts and difficulties suggests concrete actions to transform current challenges into future successes. The challenge now is to move from analysis to action to ensure the educational success of all students.
