The Ministry of National Education and the National Gendarmerie held, this Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Diamniadio, the official signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation between the National Gendarmerie and the General Secretariat of the Ministry of National Education for a period of 3 years.

This agreement, which is part of the partnership agreements already established between the Ministry of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of National Education, aims to strengthen cooperation between the National Gendarmerie and the General Secretariat of the Ministry of National Education.

Co-chaired by the heads of supervision (General Birame Diop and Moustapha Guirassy), this agreement supports the joint implementation of training, awareness-raising and student supervision activities in the areas of citizenship, civics and defense and security culture.

This national cooperation has several objectives, namely to instill and consolidate among young people republican values, civic-mindedness, the spirit of defense and the culture of security, to equip and strengthen the pedagogical capacities of teachers, Koranic masters and local trainers in order to ensure a sustainable and appropriate transmission of these values, to deploy practical activities such as training in life-saving gestures and road safety to anchor learning and to establish a national monitoring and evaluation system in order to guarantee the quality, local adaptation and continuous improvement of prevention and training actions.

With a view to consolidating social peace and national security, this memorandum of understanding symbolises the common desire of the two institutions to contribute to the civic and patriotic education of young people.
