Chanvre et ecstasy : 8 jeunes, dont 2 filles, surpris en pleine consommation dans un appartement loué
The phenomenon of drug use among young people continues to gain ground in the capital of rail. In September 2025, a group of young people, including two girls and two minors, were arrested with Indian hemp and ecstasy. They were boys P. Sylla, S. Diop, B. Diop, I. Sarr, D. Diop, C. Camara (a minor), and girls A. Diallo and A. Fall (a minor).
Their arrest followed a denunciation by the local residents of the neighborhood where they had rented an apartment. When the police raided the premises, they caught P. Sylla and Co. consuming Indian hemp and ecstasy.
Caught in the act, these youths were then arrested and sent to prison. At the end of their pre-trial detention, P. Sylla and Co., with the exception of the two minors, were tried this Friday by the Thiès High Court. In court, the defendants admitted the facts, except for P. Sylla, who stated that the police found him sleeping.
The public prosecutor considered the facts consistent and requested a one-month prison sentence. The two minors, C. Camara and A. Fall, will in turn be brought before the juvenile court.
