Elements of the Anti-Crime Brigade (BLC) of the urban security of the central police station of Dakar arrested a Nigerian national for drug possession in the Mixta district.
The incident occurred during a routine patrol in the neighborhood. Upon seeing the police officers, he fled, arousing their suspicion. A chase ensued, and the man was eventually apprehended.
Identified by the initials DM, a 34-year-old Nigerian national claiming to be a merchant residing in the Mixta neighborhood, he was subjected to a search. Police then discovered loose cocaine in his possession, which had not yet been weighed, according to Seneweb sources.
During the arrest, the suspect had scratches above his eye. According to the brigade chief, these injuries resulted from a fall during his attempted escape.
The suspect was taken to the police station for the purposes of the investigation opened for drug possession.
