«J’ai tenté de la violer» : les choquants aveux du tailleur de 30 ans, surpris avec une fillette de 3 ans
MM Diallo, 30, faces 10 years in prison. This is the sentence requested by the prosecutor against this tailor from Medina Gounas (Guédiawaye) who is on trial before the criminal chamber of the Pikine/Guédiawaye court for the rape of a three-year-old girl, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor.
According to L'Observateur, which attended the hearing, the events date back six years. One afternoon in June 2020, the newspaper recounts, the accused encountered 3-year-old Ms. Diallo, who was unaccompanied, in the street. He lured her into a building under construction, removed her underwear, and attempted to sexually assault her.
Fortunately for the child, a woman named E. Carvalho, who was passing by, heard his cries. She rushed into the building, the tailor abruptly stopped his dirty work and tried to escape. He was caught by a group of people alerted by the commotion.
Almost six years later, before the criminal court, Mr. Diallo confessed. "I tried to rape her," he declared, according to L'Observateur, regarding the 3-year-old child. "Even more disturbing," the newspaper continued, "he admitted to having abused four other girls in the past."
Although he seemed taken aback by his client's statements in court, the defense found an opening to bolster its argument. "A normal person doesn't act like that. How can one so easily admit to such a despicable act?" asked the defendant's lawyer, Mr. Sy, who, invoking insanity, requested the accused's acquittal.
"The medical file reveals that the tailor was hospitalized at the Thiaroye psychiatric hospital between 2014 and 2016 for 'early-stage schizophrenia,'" reports L'Observateur. According to the defense, quoted by the daily newspaper, these disorders persisted, and Mr. Diallo was not in a state to understand what he was doing.
This line of defense did not convince the prosecutor. "Dr. Boissy's report refers to disorders dating back to 2014-2015," objected the public prosecutor. "At the time of the events, in 2020, he was of sound mind. Why did he flee if he didn't know his actions were reprehensible?"
Given that the accused is guilty of attempted rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor, the prosecutor requested a 10-year prison sentence. The verdict will be delivered on April 5th.
