«J’éprouve du plaisir en...» : les choquants aveux de la ravisseuse d'écolières de Mbour
A. Kane, a 45-year-old shopkeeper residing in Yeumbeul, was remanded in custody and transferred to the Mbour prison. According to L'Observateur, her arrest puts an end to several weeks of fear in the primary schools of the Petite Côte region.
She is accused of orchestrating a series of kidnappings and jewelry thefts targeting exclusively young schoolgirls around the age of 10. According to the modus operandi described by the same source, the accused, a divorced mother of five, regularly left the suburbs of Dakar to commit her crimes in Mbour.
She would spot little girls alone at the end of classes, present herself as a "friend of their mother" to gain their trust, then lead them to isolated places to rip off their gold earrings and bracelets, before abandoning them and returning to Dakar, the newspaper details.
The newspaper of the Future Media Group reports that her arrest took place last Friday thanks to the vigilance of T. Gaye, a fourth-grade student. Already a victim of the suspect on January 7th, the girl recognized her when she tried to approach her again using the same tactic. Instead of falling into the trap, the child alerted her uncle, triggering a response from local residents and the arrest of the woman in her forties.
When questioned by investigators, A. Kane eventually confessed, justifying his actions with a disturbing impulse: "Stealing is a habit of mine, I get pleasure from stealing schoolgirls' jewelry."
She will now have to answer for serious offenses, including the abduction and confinement of minors under the age of 13, as well as robbery with violence.
