Keur Massar : Derrière le rideau du marabout, une voix mystérieuse au service de l'arnaque
A man claiming to have spiritual powers was arrested by members of the research brigade of the Malika district police station, following a complaint for fraud filed on April 24, 2026.
A carefully orchestrated staging
It all began in Rufisque, where the complainant, A. Diop, was approached by a certain Mouhamed, who invited him to contact his supposed uncle, A. Ndaw. The latter presented himself as a marabout and received his victim in Keur Massar.
On site, a third accomplice, hidden behind a curtain, simulates a mysterious "spiritual voice" in order to make the deception believable.
170,000 CFA francs extorted, other sums claimed
Trapped by this setup, A. Diop handed over 170,000 CFA francs. The scammers also demanded payment of other large sums before the victim, alerted to the situation, filed a complaint, according to Seneweb sources.
Having taken up the case, investigators from the Malika Criminal Investigation Brigade located and arrested A. Ndaw at Malika Beach. When questioned by investigators, he denied the charges, admitting only to having offered his services, while refusing any coercion or fraudulent scheme.
In the end, A. Ndaw was brought before Prosecutor Saliou Dicko on Monday, April 27, 2026. The investigation continues with a view to identifying and arresting his two accomplices, including the one named Mouhamed and a third individual who is not yet identified.
