Saisie à Fatick et Kaolack : L’OCRTIS frappe un grand coup et intercepte plus de 100 kg de drogue !
As part of the fight against illicit drug trafficking, the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) recently conducted several coordinated operations in the regions of Fatick and Kaolack, resulting in significant seizures of Indian hemp and arrests.
89 kg seized in the Fatick region
In Fatick, the Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS), through its coastal unit based in Karang, dismantled a transit point hidden in the forest area, near the village of Keur Yoro Diop, in the Sokone area.
Acting on reliable intelligence, officers raided the premises where three individuals, identified as drug couriers, were preparing to transport a shipment. Upon the arrival of security forces, the suspects fled, abandoning three packages containing a total of 89 kilograms of cannabis, packaged in one-kilogram blocks. The drugs were seized and placed under seal. A search operation is underway to locate the fugitives.
19 kg intercepted in Kaolack, a suspect arrested
In the Kaolack region, another operation conducted by the BRS led to the arrest of an individual in the Nioro du Rip department. The suspect, traveling by motorcycle between Karang and Dramé Escale, was intercepted in the Keur Malick Fadi forest area.
A search of his vehicle revealed 19 kilograms of carefully concealed cannabis. The motorcycle used for transport was also seized as evidence. The suspect was taken into custody for questioning.
