The Thiès court heard a case of alleged adultery on Monday, May 4th, which has unfolded into a family drama involving betrayal and troubling accusations. The defendant, FKN, is being prosecuted for adultery, while PMT, a close friend of her husband, is charged as an accomplice.

The events date back to a night when the husband left the marital home to go to his farm, located more than 20 kilometers from Keur Moussa. According to the prosecution, PMT took advantage of this absence to discreetly go to his friend's house.

Around 1 a.m., he entered the couple's bedroom. But his presence did not go unnoticed. The husband's younger brother, who was present, stated that he saw him enter the room. Suspecting, he immediately alerted his older brother by phone.

Upon learning of the situation, the husband rushed home from his farm. When he arrived, he found the bedroom door locked. Suspecting something was amiss, he called his father and brother to witness the scene.

In front of these witnesses, he burst into the bedroom. According to his statement, he then discovered his wife and her childhood friend completely naked in the marital bed. He claims the man's underwear was pulled down to his knees, while the woman was on top of him. Surprised, the two quickly got dressed. The husband's shouts soon attracted the neighbors, turning the incident into a public spectacle.

Humiliated and angry, the husband then went to the police. He filed a complaint against his wife for adultery and defamation, as well as against his friend for complicity in adultery. He also claimed that, following the incident, his wife sent him insulting messages.

The two suspects were arrested, questioned and then placed on provisional release pending their court appearance.

In court, FKN categorically denied the adultery charges. She acknowledged that PMT had made advances towards her, but maintained that she never gave in to them. She offered a unique version of events. According to her, the man had offered her mystical practices supposedly designed to help her conceive, taking advantage of her difficulties getting pregnant.

She claimed to have consumed mystical substances allegedly given to her by PMT, which she said altered her behavior to the point of placing her in a situation she couldn't control. However, she denied any sexual contact, although she admitted to being caught in a compromising position.

For his part, PMT confirmed his presence in the room and stated that they were both naked. However, he insisted that no sexual act had taken place. He denied any mystical practices on the woman and described the situation as confusing, attributing it to "the work of the devil."

The husband maintained his version of events in court and spoke of betrayal. Visibly distraught, he said he was deeply disappointed in his wife, for whom he claimed to have invested a great deal, particularly in her education. His disappointment was also directed at his friend, whom he described as a longtime companion who had been close to the family since childhood. He even emphasized that this friend had played a role in formalizing their marriage.

The husband's younger brother, considered a key witness, confirmed seeing PMT enter the room. He also maintained that he saw the two protagonists naked in bed.

The public prosecutor, after hearing the various parties, requested the application of the law, without making a specific request for a sentence.

The court has taken the case under advisement. The verdict is expected on May 11, 2026.
