Thiès : un jeune homme arrêté en flagrant délit de tentative de vol nocturne dans un domicile
Mr. Niang, a 23-year-old man, appeared before the Thiès court of flagrant offenses for attempted theft committed at night, with the aggravating circumstance of escalation.
According to the facts presented in court, the defendant broke into I. Coumbassa's home around 2:00 a.m. with the intention of committing a robbery. However, his attempt was interrupted when he was surprised by the plaintiff's son, who was on the terrace preparing tea. Arrested and remanded in custody, he is being tried this Friday, April 25.
In court, Mr. Niang admitted to the attempted robbery, while contesting the scaling of the wall. He maintained that he entered through the door and not by climbing over a wall, as stated in the proceedings.
For its part, the prosecution, considering the facts sufficiently established, requested the strict application of the law.
At the end of the debates, the court adjourned the case for deliberation.
