Tivaouane-Peulh : Adoptée en Guinée-Bissau à l'âge de 5 ans, une orpheline violée par son père adoptif
The local brigade of Tivaouane-Peulh, under the Rufisque company, has taken into custody Mr. Diop, 55, for rape committed with violence, pedophilia, abduction of a minor and death threats against his 16-year-old adopted daughter.
It was the victim's behavior that triggered everything.
On February 13, 2026, BD, a student in 8th grade, displayed unusually disruptive behavior in class. Visibly stressed, she was no longer able to follow the lessons normally.
Alerted by this behavior, one of her classmates approached her and managed to get her to confide in her. The young girl then revealed the abuse she was suffering at the hands of her adoptive father. The two students decided to speak to the school supervisor, who referred the matter to the neighborhood godmother, commonly known as "Badiène Gokh".
She was well aware of her responsibilities in this matter. Indeed, she had previously been made aware by Adjutant Sow, brigade commander of Tivaouane-Peulh, upon taking up her post, of the need to monitor and report any case of violence, physical abuse or sexual abuse committed on minors within families and neighborhoods.
Without hesitation, she brought the matter to the attention of the chief gendarme. After consultation with Prosecutor Cheikh Diakhoumpa, head of the Rufisque prosecutor's office, an investigation was opened.
Medical examinations confirm the facts
A request for a qualified person was sent to the head doctor of the Keur Massar health center. The findings of the medical examination revealed evidence consistent with the alleged facts, thus confirming the victim's statements.
Upon receiving these results, Mr. Diop, BD's guardian, was immediately questioned by investigators. The neighborhood inquiry sheds light on Mr. Diop's background and his relationship with the victim.
He had adopted the girl when she was only 5 years old, bringing her back with him from Guinea-Bissau. He had enrolled her in school with his own children and seemed to fully embrace his role as a father.
But when the girl reached puberty, her presence at home gradually became a source of tension.
No longer able to bear the situation, his wife eventually left the marital home, leaving the young girl alone with her guardian. The latter, under the pretext of protecting her from family tensions, then placed her in a separate room, away from his other children.
It was from this moment that BD claims to have been the victim of repeated sexual assaults by Mr. Diop, who threatened to send her back to Guinea-Bissau if she refused to give in to his advances, according to Seneweb sources.
Having lost her father and being aware of the precarious situation in which her mother, who remained in the country, was living, the young girl had chosen to remain silent and bear her suffering alone.
It was ultimately his behavior in class that betrayed his heavy secret, leading to the denunciation of the facts and the arrest of his tutor.
Mr. Diop was brought before the prosecutor at the Rufisque High Court. He is expected to be remanded in custody by the investigating judge of the first chamber.
