The land dispute that has been roiling the Route de Dakar 2 neighborhood in Thiès continues to cause concern and confusion among residents affected by the demolitions of their homes over the years. In response to this situation, Amadou Dia, the member of parliament for the Thiès department, has announced that he has initiated steps to find lasting solutions.

During a community cleanup operation in the neighborhood, the parliamentarian explained that the area, neglected due to a land dispute, had become an unsafe space, overgrown with weeds and shrubs. According to him, this situation made residents more vulnerable to attacks and various forms of insecurity.

Returning to the heart of the matter, Amadou Dia stated that he had already met with the communities affected by the demolitions to gather their concerns and better understand the details of the situation. He also announced that further consultations with the relevant parties would be held soon.

The MP states his intention to act as a mediator between the local population and the administrative authorities. To this end, he plans to contact the Minister of Urban Planning and the government to draw their attention to the social consequences of the land dispute in this part of the railway capital.

"We have taken a first step towards finding a solution," he said, while promising to continue advocating until a favorable outcome is reached for the affected residents.

Beyond the land issue, the parliamentarian also stressed the need to strengthen security in the area. He revealed that he had contacted the Ministry of the Interior to request the establishment of a police station to cover the area from the Route de Dakar 2 neighborhood to Iba Der Thiam University, passing through the Grand Standing neighborhood.
