France : Le policier qui avait reçu un don de Kylian Mbappé, envoyé à la retraite anticipée
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. When Kylian Mbappé offered €60,300 to the police commander in charge of security for the French national team after the last World Cup, he was far from imagining that this act of generosity would backfire on the officer. Indeed, the General Directorate of the National Police (DGPN) severely punished the officer, imposing an early retirement on December 20, 2025.
This donation, made "by check," is "legal" and "does not need to be declared."
The police officer is accused of failing to inform his superiors of this financial link between himself and Kylian Mbappé. This omission is considered a serious offense under the police code of ethics.
The commander's lawyer, Jean Baptiste Soufron, disagrees. He believes that this donation, "made by check," is "legal" and "does not need to be declared."
This sanction imposed on the police officer comes 11 days before his scheduled retirement. He is due to leave his post tomorrow, Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
He is not the only agent to benefit from Mbappé's generosity.
The officer is not the only member of the French national team's security team to benefit from Kylian Mbappé's generosity. Four other senior officers also received 30,000 euros each.
