Thiès : Deux ressortissantes guinéennes se battent pour un homme
Originally from Guinea, two young women, W. Diallo and B. Kandé, had a violent fight in Thiès over a man. Barely having arrived in Senegal, B. Kandé fell under the spell of her fellow citizen's boyfriend, W. Diallo, and began approaching him. When W. Diallo noticed that B. Kandé was seducing her partner, she quickly warned her. But B. Kandé persisted, which sparked a rivalry between the two women.
They began to exchange barbs, sometimes malicious remarks, each trying to annoy the other. The tension reached a peak when they came to blows. That day, the two women crossed paths, and Kandé allegedly provoked Diallo.
A fight broke out, before the neighbors intervened to separate them. Kandé subsequently obtained a medical certificate and filed a complaint against Diallo for assault and battery. Diallo was arrested and remanded in custody. This Monday, before the Thiès District Court, the defendant, Diallo, admitted the facts and apologized.
The civil party, B. Kandé, claimed the sum of 80,000 CFA francs in compensation. Judging the facts established, the public prosecutor requested that the law be applied. The judge ultimately sentenced W. Diallo to a two-month suspended sentence and ordered the plaintiff to pay 80,000 CFA francs to compensate for the damages.
