Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement on the sidelines of the war against Iran. He announced the intensification of Israeli strikes against Tehran, which he said would help the Iranian people to overthrow the regime of the Mullahs.
But beyond this statement, which foreshadows the continuation of the conflict in the coming days, many internet users are skeptical about the veracity of Netanyahu's video. Following its publication by BFM TV, hundreds of people became video "experts," dissecting every detail that could prove it was actually generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
What caught the attention of many internet users was that, on several occasions during the video, Benjamin Netanyahu's fingers appeared to be the same length (see photos). While this could be explained by the camera's field of view, which might create the illusion of magnification of the little finger, others believe it to be evidence of the presence of AI.
Then, at one point in the video, Benjamin Netanyahu surreptitiously puts his hand behind his microphone. But at that moment, the image gave the impression that the Israeli Prime Minister had six fingers. Screenshots quickly flooded social media. Even worse, several other inconsistencies were pointed out by internet users, including misaligned teeth, changing hair color, and a fleeting blink of his ears.
Speculation surrounding this video has been so rife that specialists have taken up the issue. Olivier Rimmel, a French technologist, created an app announcing that an evaluation is underway to determine whether or not the video is AI-generated. "What I can already say at this stage is that it's not impossible for an AI to have produced this video," he wrote.
This video of the Israeli Prime Minister has given rise to other rumors, particularly about his health.
