The annual White House Correspondents' Dinner narrowly escaped disaster on Saturday, April 25, 2026. While the cream of American politics and media was gathered at the Washington Hilton Hotel, between four and six explosions rang out, causing widespread panic.

Donald Trump and his wife Melania, seated at the head table on a raised platform facing 2,600 guests, were immediately escorted away by heavily armed Secret Service agents. As you can see in the video below, the exfiltration was extremely swift and tense.

In these images broadcast by American television networks, bodyguards can be seen forcefully removing Vice President JD Vance from the stage. Immediately afterward, President Trump appears on screen, seemingly stumbling in the haste of the evacuation as agents shield him with their bodies.

A 31-year-old suspect arrested

According to initial reports, an armed man attempted to force his way into the gala by rushing through the metal detector. During his escape, he opened fire, wounding a law enforcement officer before being subdued and arrested. The 31-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in court this Monday.

Two hours after the incident, Donald Trump, still wearing his evening tuxedo, spoke at an impromptu press conference. He called the assailant a "potential assassin." It's worth noting that this was the President's first time attending this prestigious dinner, which brings together Washington's elite.

Où sèment ils la terreur ? C'est bizarre parce qu'il y a toujours plus de demandes de visa pour les EU que pour Le MO ou Iran

Ce qui est bizarre c 'est que les tireurs précédents étaient des blancs précaires maga , peu instruits. Là on a (enfin) un gars (presque) noir , californien , diplômé et prof. Le profil idéal pour exciter la colère des maga. L'attaque n'a aucune change de réussir, à moins que ce soit un suicide by cop
