Elle pleurait pendant qu’il jouait à la console… 30 ans de prison pour un Américain qui s’est acharné et a tué sa fille de 2 mois

A 27-year-old man has been convicted of killing his two-month-old daughter. The baby suffered 26 rib fractures and a cerebral hemorrhage. The judge cited the extreme violence and the victim's age as aggravating factors.

She died of a cerebral hemorrhage. A 27-year-old American man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after causing the death of his 2-month-old daughter by beating her, the city of Virginia Beach, Virginia (United States) reported in a press release on Monday, October 6. The incident occurred in December 2019, when La'Shaun Quintae Holloway had custody of the baby.

Taking charge of the little girl's care, he yelled at her repeatedly while she cried and he was playing video games on his Xbox console. According to family members nearby, he also insulted his child. The baby's cries suddenly stopped, before she was discovered unconscious moments later. She was rushed to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries within days.

The victim's age was considered an aggravating circumstance

When examined by doctors, the infant had no fewer than 26 rib fractures, bruises on the rib cage, a fractured collarbone, a skull fracture, bruises on the skull, around the eyes, and a cerebral hemorrhage. These serious injuries left no doubt as to the abuse suffered by the girl.

Found guilty of the baby's murder and child abuse at the end of his trial on August 26, 2024, La'Shaun Quintae Holloway was sentenced to 30 years in prison for these charges, with 20 years suspended. This sentence goes beyond the submissions made during the trial, which called for 23 years and 8 months of criminal imprisonment. The judge considered the brutality of the murder and the victim's age as aggravating factors and accordingly decided to increase the sentence.

The defendant's criminal record also did not help, as he had already been convicted of child abuse and neglect following an accident he caused while intoxicated. The 27-year-old also had weapons violations and had been convicted of theft in his youth.
