US President Donald Trump warned Tehran on Monday, February 16, 2026, of "the consequences of not reaching an agreement" ahead of planned talks between the United States and Iran in Geneva this week. "I will be participating in these discussions, indirectly," the US president told reporters aboard Air Force One, en route to Washington. "They want to make a deal... I don't think they want to take responsibility for the consequences of not making a deal," Trump said, referring to the Iranian authorities.
