INTERPOL annonce 9 arrestations dans la lutte contre le terrorisme dans douze pays d'Afrique
The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) has announced the results of Operation "Screen West Africa 2025", conducted between July and October in twelve West African countries, to strengthen border security and dismantle transnational criminal networks.
This operation resulted in 62 arrests, including 9 people suspected of links to terrorism. The forces involved also seized significant quantities of weapons, ammunition, explosives, narcotics, counterfeit medicines, and stolen vehicles.
Thanks to INTERPOL's mobile equipment, officers carried out 1.7 million real-time checks, generating nearly 250 positive matches in the databases, including several linked to red and blue notices.
The checks also targeted ports and maritime areas, highlighting fraudulent practices such as falsification of ship identity or irregular flag changes.
Funded by several international partners, the operation mobilized Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.
