Iran: des ponts, des routes et des lignes ferroviaires frappés
Iranian authorities reported on Tuesday attacks on at least two bridges, railway infrastructure and a highway, as part of a series of strikes against civilian facilities in the war between Iran, Israel and the United States.
A bridge near the holy city of Qom, 150 kilometers south of Tehran, and another supporting a railway in the city of Kashan, in the center of the country, were hit, according to regional officials quoted by state media.
In Kashan, two people were killed and three others injured, said Akbar Salehi, vice-governor of Isfahan province (central), quoted by the official news agency Irna.
A major highway in the northwest of the country, linking the city of Tabriz to Tehran, was also closed to traffic after being hit about 90 kilometers from Tabriz.
The Revolutionary Guards specified that the strike had hit a highway bridge.
The Mizan website, an organ of the judiciary, also reported a strike on railway lines in Karaj, on the outskirts of Tehran, and broadcast images showing Red Crescent rescuers carrying an injured person on a stretcher.
All trains to and from Mashhad, Iran's second-largest city in the northeast, were canceled Tuesday as a precaution after a warning from Israel urging Iranians not to take the train, suggesting that strikes were imminent.
The same measure was taken in the province of Khuzestan (southwest).
According to the Isna news agency, power outages affected parts of the cities of Karaj and Fardis, on the outskirts of Tehran, after power transmission lines and a transformer station were knocked out of service by airstrikes.
The Israeli army stated that it had carried out a wide series of strikes targeting "infrastructure", without specifying which ones.
US President Donald Trump has issued an ultimatum for the Islamic Republic to unblock the Strait of Hormuz by 8:00 PM Washington time on Tuesday (00:00 GMT Wednesday), warning that otherwise Iran could be "destroyed overnight".
