Iran: les Etats-Unis et Israël frappent une installation gazière (médias d'Etat)
A strike carried out Wednesday by Israel and the United States hit Iranian facilities at a major gas site in the Gulf, causing a fire, state television announced, as the war enters its third week.
"A few moments ago, parts of the gas facilities" at the South Pars/North Dome field, located in the port city of Kangan, "were hit by projectiles from the American-Zionist enemy," the television station quoted the deputy governor of the southern province of Bushehr as saying.
She added that fire crews had been dispatched to the scene to control the fire.
The vast South Pars/North Dome gas field is the world's largest known gas reserve, which Iran shares with Qatar. It supplies approximately 70% of the natural gas consumed in Iran, which has been exploiting it since the late 1990s.
Israel had already struck Iranian facilities at this site during the 12-day war of June 2025.
The country launched new strikes against Iran on February 28, jointly with the United States, killing its supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on the first day, and triggering a war that has spread throughout the Middle East.
