Italie : trois Sénégalais arrêtés pour trafic de drogue
Three Senegalese men were arrested in Genoa, Italy, during three separate recent anti-drug operations. "In the first case," reports Les Échos, which broke the story, "law enforcement officers caught a drug deal in a downtown alley. The buyer, apprehended immediately afterward, was found in possession of several doses of heroin. The suspected seller, a young Senegalese man born in 1999, attempted to flee but was quickly subdued. During his arrest, officers discovered a sum of money on him, believed to be proceeds from drug sales."
The search carried out at the suspect's home "made it possible to seize other amounts of cash as well as equipment used for packaging narcotics, elements suggesting an organized activity."
Two more Senegalese men were arrested in subsequent operations in the same city. Libération reports that the first was caught "in the act": "Police seized several doses of drugs ready for distribution, confirming further drug trafficking activity." The third Senegalese man was apprehended in downtown Genoa. "As in the other cases, drugs and cash were found," the newspaper reports. It adds that "the three individuals arrested were placed at the disposal of the Italian judicial authorities. Certain measures, including bans on entering the city of Genoa and its province, were imposed on them."
