L’avion d’un influenceur russe abattu par Moscou après avoir été confondu avec un drone ukrainien

An incident occurred in Russian airspace on March 21, on the sidelines of the conflict with Ukraine. A small tourist plane was shot down by Russian air defenses in the Moscow region after being mistaken for a Ukrainian drone, according to The Sun.
On board was Pavel Koshkin, a Russian aviation blogger, accompanied by a passenger identified as Vadim M. Both men were found dead in the wreckage near Kolomna, about 60 kilometers southeast of Moscow. A witness described a violent explosion followed by a "cloud of blue smoke" in the sky.
Hit by a Tor surface-to-air missile
The aircraft crashed approximately three kilometers from a sensitive site, a factory producing, among other things, Iskander missiles, widely used by the Russian army in Ukraine. This location could explain the rapid response of the defense systems in a particularly closely monitored area. According to initial reports, the aircraft, a Czech-made Alto NG, was hit by a Tor surface-to-air missile system, designed to intercept small, fast-moving targets.
